FootballXL – League Facilitator (Freelance, Non‑Playing Role)

Liverpool Jericho Lane – Tuesdays, 7pm to 9:30pm
£45 per session (self‑employed)

FootballXL is looking for a friendly, reliable and confident Facilitator to lead our Tuesday evening league at Liverpool Jericho Lane.
This is a non‑playing role focused on creating a welcoming environment, supporting players with their wellbeing journey, and ensuring the smooth running of the session from start to finish. You’ll be the first face players see when they arrive, greeting them, taking their weekly weights and wellbeing scores, and helping new players settle into the group.

Throughout the night you’ll keep the session organised, update scores and results, monitor attendance, and make sure the league runs fairly and consistently.

You’ll also look after the basic equipment on site, things like pumping up balls, reporting anything damaged or missing, and letting us know when replacements are needed. Good communication is important, as you’ll stay in touch with the FootballXL team, support the league WhatsApp group if used, and complete a small amount of weekly admin linked to results and player updates. Above all, you’ll help maintain the positive, inclusive, football‑first culture that makes FootballXL what it is.

We’re looking for someone approachable, organised and calm under pressure, someone who can build rapport quickly, handle simple admin confidently, and represent FootballXL professionally. Experience in sport, coaching, community work or wellbeing is helpful but not essential; what matters most is reliability, people skills and a genuine interest in supporting men’s health and community football.

This is a freelance position, so you’ll be responsible for your own tax and invoicing.

The role reports directly to the FootballXL North West Regional Manager.

To apply, simply send a brief paragraph telling us who you are and why you’d be a great fit for the role.
